PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Temple volleyball team was rewarded for another outstanding season with four All-Conference selections, as voted on by the American Athletic Conference coaches. Senior Sandra Sydlik, junior Kirsten Overton, and sophomore Irem Asci were named to the All-Conference first team, while sophomore Izzy Rapacz was named to the All-Conference second team.

Sydlik earns her second-straight first-team All-Conference nod. The starting setter for the Owls, she racked up 1,253 assists this season, the most for any Temple player since 2008. Sydlik ran the Temple offense to the tune of a .260 attack, the best mark in the league, while ranking as one of the top-30 offensive teams in the nation. Individually, she ranked 20th in the nation with 12.29 assists per set, while also tallying 241 digs and 30 aces this season. 23819

Overton repeats as an All-Conference selection, earning her first nod to the first team. From the middle, she led the Owls and the conference in hitting with a .402 attack. That number also ranks her 22nd among all Division I players. For the season, Overton racked up 285 total kills and a team-best 100 blocks. One of two Temple players to garner American Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors, she hit .400 or better in 16 matches this season.

Asci earns her first All-Conference selection in her first season with the Owls. A key player on both offense and defense, Asci recorded a team-best 3.68 kills per set, was second on the team with 2.55 digs per set, and finished third with 25 total aces. The outside hitter racked up nine double-doubles on the year, recording at least 15 kills in 10 different matches for the Owls. Asci had 20-kill performances in four different matches, including a 24-kill, 21-dig stat line in Temple's 3-2 win over conference champion, SMU.

Rapacz earns her first All-Conference nod, moving into the starting line-up this season. A right side hitter, she racked up 2.62 kills per set and 76 total blocks. Rapacz had 10 or more kills in 16 matches this year, also tallying five or more blocks in a match on four different occasions. An accurate attacker, her .264 hitting percentage led all of Temple's pin hitters this season.

Guided by fifth-year head coach Bakeer Ganes, the 2015 Owls finished 24-8 overall, tying with last season for the program's best record since 2002. The Owls finished 15-5 in conference play, alone in second place in The American.
