Men's Basketball Hosts Holiday Hoops Saturday Against Hornets

PHILADELPHIA - There is no better way to celebrate the Holiday Season than with a Temple Basketball game. This Saturday Owl fans can take in not one, but two Temple games as the men's and women's teams host Delaware State at the Liacouras Center. The women tip off at 1 p.m. while the men are at 4 p.m.
Women's Preview
Men's Headlines
• Temple is coming off a 1-1 week against a pair of Big 5 opponents, winning 77-73 at Penn before falling 66-65 in overtime at home against Saint Joseph's.
• Sophomore forward Obi Enechionyia and junior point guard Josh Brown both recorded their first career double-doubles against SJU. Enechionyia added a career-high 13 rebounds to a career-high 25 points, while Brown grabbed a career-high 12 boards and scored a season-high 13 points.
• Senior Quenton DeCosey scored a game-high 22 points at Penn, while senior Jaylen Bond recorded his third double-double of the season with 12 points to go with a game-high 10 rebounds.
• Brown dished a career-high nine assists at Penn, and hit 4-of-4 free throws in the final seconds to seal the victory for Temple after a furious rally by the Quakers.
• As a team, the Owls are leading in the nation in fewest turnovers per game at 8.4. They have recorded single digit turnovers in six of nine games, tallying as few as five (vs. Delaware on 11/29).
• The Owls had won back-to-back home games over Delaware and Fairleigh Dickinson before suffering a 76-60 loss at 2015 NCAA runner-up Wisconsin in their first true road game of the season on Dec. 5.
• Temple's first three losses this season were to teams ranked in the Top 25. This season marked the first time in program history the Owls had faced three ranked teams in their first four games.
• DeCosey is Temple's leading scorer this season with 14.6 points per game, ranking seventh in the American Athletic Conference, and has scored in double figures in eight of nine contests.
• Delaware State is still looking for its first win after going 0-10 to start the season. The Owls and the Hornets have had two opponents in common, Penn and Delaware, both of which were wins for Temple.

• Temple and Delaware State are meeting for just the second time, and for the second year in a row.
• The Owls won last year's meeting, also at home, by a score of 66-56 on Dec. 28, 2014.
