Women's Gymnastics Topped by #24 New Hampshire on the Road

Durham, N.H. - Temple women's gymnastics was topped by #24 New Hampshire on the road in a dual meet on Saturday night at Lundholm Gymnasium. The Owls earned a team score of 189.225 while the Wildcats won the meet with a team score of 194.15.
Temple's best event came on the beams with a team score of 48.225 and tied the season high on the event. Lauren Capone led the Owls on the event with a score of 9.725. Michaela Lapent opened on beams and garnered a 9.7. Stephanie Verry's routine earned her a 9.65, and Alexis Arena and Kerry Arone both got a 9.575.
The Owls opened the meet on bars and got a team score of 45.525. Victoria Reggiani had the top score for Temple on the event with a 9.675, and Arone was right behind her with a 9.65.
On vault the Owls earned a team score of 47.625. Briana Odom had the best score for the Owls with a 9.625. Reggiani earned a 9.6 on the event. Mikaela Postlethwait was right behind her with a 9.525, and Stephanie Verry got a 9.5.
Temple earned a team score of 47.85 on floor. Alexandra Forcucci had the top score for Temple with a 9.7 in her first competition of the season. Verry continued her solid performance in the meet with a 9.675 on the event. Capone's routine garnered her a 9.625.
Capone was the only all-around performer for the Owls for the third time this season. She earned a combined score of 35.1 from all four events.
Temple won't travel outside of Philadelphia next weekend as they will compete in a meet at Penn that includes West Chester next Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
