Men's Tennis Falls At Dayton, 5-2

DAYTON, Ohio – After a win over a tough Wagner team last Saturday, the men's tennis team fell to Dayton, 5-2 on Friday, February 20.
The doubles point was clinched quickly by Dayton, as Dayton's Carsten Fisher and Zach Berry defeated Nicolas Paulus and Hicham Belkssir at the first flight, 6-4, and Bernardo Sanson and Josh Malyon took down Vineet Naran and Santiago Canete in a hard fought 7-6(4) battle at the second flight. Filip Stipcic and Ondre Cargill did defeat the Flyers' Kyle MacDonald and Simon Jayram at the third flight, 6-1.
The struggles continued for the Owls as they began singles play. Canete was able to get a win at the first flight over Sanson, 6-1, 6-4 and Naran won the fifth flight in a 6-1, 0-6, 10-5 battle against Malyon. In his first singles action of the season, Ian Glessing fell to Jayaram at the sixth flight, 5-7, 6-4, 10-6.
The Owls (4-4) will face Wright State tomorrow at Five Seasons Tennis Club in Dayton, Ohio at 5:00 p.m.
