Blanca Fernandez Sets School Record in the Mile at Alex Wilson Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Junior Blanca Fernandez set a new school record in the mile at the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday. Fernandez was the only athlete competing for the Owls at the event.

Fernandez broke the previous record of 4:58.18 with her third-place 4:40.60 performance. This is the second school record that Fernandez has set this indoor season after she broke the 3,000m record last weekend at the Valentine Invitational.

Temple will be competing in the 2015 American Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships next weekend, Feb. 27-28, at the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory, New York, N.Y.
