Butts Earns Spot on American Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Temple women's basketball player Alliya Butts was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the period ending February 8.Â
Butts averaged 24.5 points per game in a 1-1 week for the Owls. She opened the week with a career-high 30 points in a win over Memphis, also adding three steals and two assists. The rookie followed that up with a 19-point performance in a loss to Tulane on the road, also nabbing three steals in that game. For the week, Butts went 12-of-13 from the free throw line.
Temple's leading scorer, Butts is averaging 12.4 points per game this season. She also leads the team with 51 total steals, a number that ranks her third in the conference.
Temple is back in action on Tuesday, with a road game at Tulsa. The Owls and the Golden Hurrican square off at 8 p.m. EST.
