WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Junior Brandon Matthews fired his second straight under-par round, carding a two-under 68 on the final day of competition at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate and finished tied for second overall among the 160 golfers with an even-par 210 on Tuesday. The Owls moved up five places to tie for 22nd overall out of 30 teams at the tournament held at Kingsmill Resort's River Course.

Not only Matthews (73-69-68), but all of Temple's five-man team had their best rounds of the three-day tournament. Senior Matt Teesdale (82-79-73, 234) was one-over on the day and tied for 111th overall. Senior Patrick Ross (79-83-74, 236) was two-over and tied for 126th while freshmen Evan Thornton (80-86-71, 237) was one-over and one shot behind Ross and tied for 132nd. Freshman Mark Farley (80-85-78, 243) rounded out the squad (t-144th).

Radford defeated Loyola-Maryland in a playoff to win the team title while Loyola-Maryland's Matt Oshrine (70-72-66, 208) won the individual title.
