Asci Earns American Weekly Honor Roll Nod

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Temple sophomore Irem Asci earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the period ending September 6.
Asci averaged a double-double (16 kills, 10 digs), leading the team to a runner-up finish at the Seton Hall Invitational, which featured a pair of 2014 NCAA tournament teams. The sophomore transfer recorded double-digit kill totals in all three matches for the Owls, including notching her first Temple double-double with 19 kills and 15 digs in a win over Notre Dame. Asci tallied 17 kills and nine digs in a victory over Hofstra, before closing the tournament with 12 kills and six digs against Seton Hall. For her efforts, she earned a spot on the All-Tournament team.
Temple is back in action this weekend, hosting the Hilton Penns Landing Cherry and White Challenge. Temple will welcome Binghamton, Montana, and Duquesne to McGonigle Hall for the event, which begins on Friday.
