Women's Basketball Plays at Tulane on Tuesday

PHILADELPHIA -- After a record-setting blizzard kept the Temple women's basketball team from playing this weekend, the Owls return to action on Tuesday. Temple travels to New Orleans to face Tulane on the road on the American Digital Network at 8 p.m. ET.

The Owls
• Temple is 11-7 overall and 5-2 in the American. After winning eight of their last 10 games, the Owls have dropped two-straight, falling to UConn and Penn. 
• Last time out, the Owls fell to Big-5 rival Penn, 60-54. 
• Temple rallied from a 10-point third quarter deficit, taking the lead with 3:40 to play, but ultimately fell to Penn, to finish the Big 5 campaign, 2-2.
• Temple out-shot Penn and each team recorded eight blocks, but the Quakers out-rebounded Temple, 59-35.
• Sophomore Alliya Butts led the Owls with 16 points, while classmate Tanaya Atkinson had 14 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore Donnaizha Fountain had eight points and seven boards, while graduate student Ugo Nwaigwe finished with a career-high six blocks, also adding five points.
• For the year, Butts leads the Owls with 15.5 points per game, while grabbing 48 steals. Fitzgerald is second with 14.4 points per game, averaging a team-high 5.1 assists per game. 
• Atkinson averages 11.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest, while Fountain (8.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg) and Covile (8.6 ppg, 6.2 rpg) bolster the Owls on both ends of the floor. 
• The Owls average 69.1 points per game as a team, giving up 63.3. Temple shoots 40.2% from the field, 30.1% from three, and 66.6% from the free throw line.

The Green Wave
• Tulane enters the game with a 15-5 overall record and a 6-2 mark in The American. The Green Wave is receiving votes in the latest USA Today Coaches' Poll.
• Tulane has won three-straight games and five out of their last six.
• Last time out, Tulane topped East Carolina, 78-73 at home, running their Devlin Fieldhouse Record to 10-1.
• Kolby Morgan, Leslie Vorpahl and Courtnie Latham all recorded double-digit scoring performances, combining for 57 of the team's points. 
Vorpahl finished with a career-best 27 points with five assists. Morgan added 18 points and six rebounds, while Latham had 12 points.
• For the season, Morgan averages 16.3 points per game, while Vorpahl averages 12.5 with 5.65 assists per outing. Latham (8.8 ppg) and Chinwe Duru (8.1 ppg) also aid the Tulane offense.
• As a team, the Green Wave average 68.8 points per game. They shoot 33.9% from the field, and 34.9% from long range. 

Temple vs. Tulane
• Temple holds a 2-1 lead in the all-time series with Tulane.
• Last year, the teams split a pair of meetings, with Tulane winning 77-63 in New Orleans, and Temple winning 69-58 in Philadelphia. 
• Last time they met, Temple used a late surge to win at McGonigle Hall. The Owls shot 47.4% from the field and forced 21 turnovers to get by the third-place Green Wave.
• For Temple, Tyonna Williams topped the team with 16 points, while Alliya Butts finished with 13 points, five assists, and three steals. Tanaya Atkinson had 12 points and five rebounds, while Feyonda Fitzgerald had nine points with a career-best six steals, while also tying a career-high with seven assists. 
• Tulane was led by Danielle Blagg's 17 points, while Tiffany Dale finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
