Men's Tennis Continues Fall Season at the ITA All-American Championship

Tulsa, OK- The men's tennis team continued their fall season at the ITA All-American Tournament in Tulsa, Ok. this weekend.
"The team got off to a great start at the ITA All-American Tournament," Coach Mauro comments. "Three out the four players won their first round matchup. The ITA All-American tournament is one of the toughest individuals tournament for college tennis. I'm really happy with the way they're playing. Artem Kapshuk has won all his matches and has advanced to the next round."
In the singles of round one, the Owls had great success. They won three out of their four first round matches. Florian Mayer defeated J Herden from Arkansas 6-4 and 6-2. Filip Stipcic defeated Egehan Sertkaya from Illinois State 6-2 and 6-4. Artem Kapshuk defeated Olle Thestrup from Auburn 6-1 and 6-2. However, Uladzimir Dorash lost his first round match to J. Roberts from South Florida 1-6, 6-4, and 6-4.
In the singles of round two, Filip Stipcic was defeated by P. Delgado from the University of Texas-Arlington 6-0 and 6-4. Florian Mayer was defeated by R Herrera from East Tennessee State 4-6, 6-0, and 6-1. However, Artem Kapshuk was the lone bright spot for the Owls. Artem Kapshuk bested J. Cruz Soria from South Alabama 6-4, 1-6, and 6-0 to advance to the next round.
The Owls will be back in action at the ITA All-American Championship tomorrow.
