Tanaya Atkinson Earns American Weekly Honors

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple's Tanaya Atkinson was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the period ending November 13. The junior led the Owls to a lopsided victory on the road at Saint Joseph's.
Atkinson opened the 2016-17 season for the Owls in a big way, recording 24 points and seven rebounds as Temple defeated the Hawks, 86-70. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Owls against SJU, and was the fourth-largest victory for Temple against their cross-town rivals. Atkinson shot 46.7% (7-15) in the game and added two steals in the win.
Temple (1-0) is back in action tonight, hosting Philadelphia Big 5-rival La Salle at 5:00 p.m. at McGonigle Hall.
