PHILADELPHIA -- Three members of the 2016 Temple volleyball team were honored with All-Conference selections, as announced by the American Athletic Conference earlier today. Senior Kirsten Overton, and juniors Irem Asci, and Izzy Rapacz represented the Owls with the honor, which is voted on by the league's coaches.

Overton is a middle-blocker from Royersford, Pa., who earns her third-straight All-Conference honor. A second team selection, she has led the Owls in hitting percentage in each of the last three seasons, also finishing in the top-30 in the nation twice. This season, Overton hit .354, second in the American Athletic Conference, while putting down 185 total kills. In her career in cherry and white, Overton has racked up 823 total kills, including attacking at a .363 clip. She's reached the 100-block mark in each of the past three seasons, tallying 371 total in her career, accounting for 1,042 points at Temple.

Asci is an outside hitter from Ankara, Turkey, and is now a back-to-back first-team All-Conference selection. She tallied 504 total kills this season, the third-best single-season total for an Owl since All-American, Yun Yi Zhang in 2009 (544), and 2008 (533). Asci tallied double-digit kill totals in 28 of 30 matches for Temple, including reaching the 20+ kill mark in eight matches this year. She's contributed in all facets of the game for the Owls this season, recording 333 total digs,  averaging 2.87 per set, which ranked second on the team. Asci also finished first on the team with 37 aces and fourth in total blocks, with 51.

Rapacz is an outside/right side hitter from Glenview, Ill., who earns her second-straight All-Conference selection, including her initial first-team honor. Playing her first season as an all-around player, Rapacz shined both offensively and defensively, tallying 349 kills and 308 digs with 101 total blocks. Her kills per set average of 2.96 was second on the Owls, while her digs per set (2.61) placed her third on the team. An American Athletic Conference Player of the Week selection this season, Rapacz hit .262, while adding 18 total service aces.

Temple finished the 2016 season with a 22-8 overall mark, including going 15-5 in the American Athletic Conference.
