Women's Basketball Topples UDC in Exhibition

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's basketball team picked up a huge 107-22 victory over University of the District of Columbia in an exhibition game on Saturday evening.
Six Temple players ended the night in double-figures led by 18 points, four assists, and three steals from junior Alliya Butts. Classmate Tanaya Atkinson had 17 points and six boards, while senior Feyonda Fitzgerald notched 12 points, nine assists, and three steals. Junior Khadijah Berger ended her night with 15 points, while classmate Donnaizha Fountain notched a double-double with 13 points and a game-best 17 rebounds. Senior Monasia Bolduc chipped in with 10 points and six boards, while freshman Shantay Taylor had nine points and nine rebounds.
Rookies Shannen Atkinson and Takora McIntyre also played well with Atkinson picking up seven points and four rebounds, and McIntyre adding three points, six rebounds, and four rebounds.
Temple opens the 2016-17 season on the road on Friday, November 11 at Saint Joseph's at 7:00 p.m.
