Atkinson Named Big 5 Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple women's basketball sophomore Tanaya Atkinson was named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the period ending February 14.
Atkinson averaged 17.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game in a 2-1 week for the Owls. She opened  with a 16-point, seven-rebound performance against Cincinnati, and then tallied a career-best 27 points (on 76.9% from the field) against Houston, also pulling down seven boards. Atkinson ended the week with nine points, six rebounds, and four steals against No. 1 UConn.
The 17-8 Temple women's basketball team next hits the road, traveling to Memphis to take on the Tigers on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. EST.
