PHILADELPHIAÂ - Throughout the Temple fencing season, two Owls will be featured each week in a series called "Behind the Mask." The fourth installment helps fans get to know junior Victoria Suber and senior Petra Khan, both of the sabre squad.
Victoria Suber
If you could have any super power, what would it be?
Time travel.
How did you get started in fencing?
I tried fencing as a winter sport in middle school to transition from playing soccer in the fall to running track in the spring.
Do you have siblings? Names, ages?
I have a younger brother, Eddie (10) and a younger sister, Joanna (14).
If you could be in any profession after college, what would it be?
I have no idea, probably something involving engineering consulting.
If you could change one thing about the world today, what would it be?
Improve the standard for public school systems.
If you could eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Chicken pad thai.
Favorite candy?
Laffy Taffy.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
My proudest accomplishment is making it to the last round in my first NCAA Regionals.
What TV shows are you hooked on?
Not hooked on any TV shows in particular right now but I'm excited for the new season of Power.
If you were an animal, what animal would you be?
A cat.
Favorite exercise in the weight room?
Squats.
What's one word to describe yourself?
Procrastinator.
What is something your mom or dad taught you?
One thing my dad taught me is to always try my best at everything I do.

I did a summer camp the year before 8th grade and liked it.

I have one brother named Faris and he is 17.

My dream job is to be a director of communications for a professional sports team.

If you could change one thing about the world today, what would it be?
I would make it a safer place for everyone.

Chicken Tikka Masala with Naan.
