3.11.16 | Women's Gymnastics
PHILADELPHIA – With only one regular season left in the season, the Owls are set to travel to conference leader Brown for a quad meet on Saturday night. The Owls look to perform their best of the season against the Bears, as well as Southern Connecticut and Rhode Island College.
Last weekend, the Owls posted a 190.50 at their final home meet in McGonigle Hall, led by Reagan Oliveri who won the all-around title. Oliveri was able to post a season-high on beam with a 9.75 to lift her to a 38.2 all-around score.
India Anderson and Alexa Phillip both posted some of their biggest scores of the season to pick up some momentum at the end of the season. Phillip hit a 9.8 on floor that tied with Anderson for second overall. Anderson's 9.8 on floor and 9.7 on vault marked career-highs for the freshman, who earned ECAC Rookie of the Week honors for her performances.
Entering the final weekend of competition, Temple has dropped to a fifth place ranking in the conference. Briana Odom remains ranked first on floor and Sahara Gipson is ranked second on vault.
Brown, who is currently ranked first in the conference, has had an impressive season. Currently, Brown boasts a team RQS of 193.030 and has posted a season-high team score of 194.075. Caroline Morant is ranked second in the individual all-around and the Bears' vault, bars and floor teams lead the conference, as well.
This weekend's competition will be the Owls' first meeting with the Bears in 2016. Temple has met with Southern Connecticut and Rhode Island College previously this season and stands undefeated against both squads.
Saturday's meet is set to begin at 6:00 p.m.
