PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's tennis team picked up another victory on Saturday afternoon after downing the visiting Hampton University Pirates, 6-0. The Owls are now 18-5 overall on the season.
Temple swept the singles point, with Artem Kapshuk picking up a 6-2, 6-0 win at the second flight over Fedor Shirin, while Nicolas Paulus cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 win over Charles Hudson at the fourth flight. Hicham Belkssir was also able to pick up a win at the fifth flight, defeating Miguel Suarez, 6-2, 6-1. Florian Mayer clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the sixth flight over Joshua McQueen.
Both Sanitago Canete and Uladzimir Dorash picked up victories at the first and third flights, respectively, with each going into three sets.
The Owls will be back in action on April 10 as they host Fairleigh Dickinson at 3:00 p.m. at TU Pavilion. Prior to the match, the Class of 2016 will be recognized.
