Asci Lands on American Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Temple junior Irem Asci was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the period ending September 25. The outside hitter led the Owls' offense in a 1-1 week to start conference play.
Asci racked up a massive 5.22 kills per set, also adding 1.78 digs per set as Temple topped Houston and fell to Tulane. On Sunday, recorded a career-best 26 kills, hitting .388 with seven digs, four blocks, and two aces, as Temple defeated Houston, 3-1. Earlier in the week, Asci tallied 21 kills with nine digs and an ace in the Owls' 3-2 loss to Tulane. For the weekend, she finished with 52 points, 47 kills, 16 digs, six blocks, four assists, and two aces. Â
Temple's most productive offensive player, Asci currently ranks second in the conference with 4.31 kills per set, while also ranking in the top-40 in the nation in the category.
