Asci Lands on American Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Temple junior Irem Asci was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the period ending September 25. The outside hitter led the Owls' offense in a 1-1 week to start conference play.

Asci racked up a massive 5.22 kills per set, also adding 1.78 digs per set as Temple topped Houston and fell to Tulane. On Sunday, recorded a career-best 26 kills, hitting .388 with seven digs, four blocks, and two aces, as Temple defeated Houston, 3-1. Earlier in the week, Asci tallied 21 kills with nine digs and an ace in the Owls' 3-2 loss to Tulane. For the weekend, she finished with 52 points, 47 kills, 16 digs, six blocks, four assists, and two aces.  

Temple's most productive offensive player, Asci currently ranks second in the conference with 4.31 kills per set, while also ranking in the top-40 in the nation in the category.
