PHILADELPHIA - On Saturday, Temple men's cross country placed third out of the nine teams at the American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships. Freshman Anton Harrsen and graduate student Marc Steinsberger each gave top-10 performances.

Keys to the Race
> The squad started the 8K off strong, running in a solid pack to set the pace.
> The first to finish for the Owls was freshman Anton Harrsen. Harrsen finished eighth in a time of 25:39.1.
> Next to cross the finish line for Temple was graduate student Marc Steinsberger to round out the top 10 (25:46.2).
> Sophomore Kevin Lapsansky was No. 3 for Temple, completing the race in 25:46.5 for 11th place.
> Junior David Fitzgerald made the top-20, placing 18th with a time of 26:08.1

> Harrsen, Steinsberger, and Lapsansky each earned All-Conference honors for their performances, which is the most runners Temple has ever placed in the top 15.
> The squad's third-place finish was its highest-ever finish in the conference.
> 2017 marks the first time the American Athletic Conference Championships were hosted at Belmont Plateau.
