Westfield, Coundourides Earn American Honor Roll Nods

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple volleyball team was represented on the American Athletic Conference weekly awards list with a pair of honor roll selections. Senior Kyra Coundourides earned her fourth nod of the season, while redshirt freshman Dana Westfield makes her first career appearance.
DOUBLE THE FUN: Kyra Coundourides
> Coundourides posted back-to-back double-doubles, averaging 39 assists and 12 digs per match.
> On Friday, she dished out 42 assists and collected 12 digs in a 3-0 sweep over Houston.
> On Sunday, Coundourides distributed 36 assists, adding 12 digs and three kills as the Owls swept Tulane.
> For the week, she averaged 13.00 assists and 4.00 digs per set, leading the Owls to a .287 team attack.
ON THE ATTACK: Dana Westfield
> Westfield led the Owls' offense in kills per set (4.50) and hitting percentage (.383) in a pair of matches.
> On Friday, she tallied 14 kills, hitting .333 as Temple topped Tulane.
> On Sunday, Westfield racked up 13 kills with just one error, hitting .444 as Temple swept Houston.
> Westfield racked up 27 points for the Owls in the two matches.
OWLS ON A ROLL
> Temple won its sixth and seventh straight matches over the weekend.
> The Owls swept both opponents, 3-0, topping Houston on Friday and Tulane on Sunday.
