Women's Basketball Plays Wagner at Home on Thursday

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's basketball team will look to rebound from Monday's loss with a Thursday home game. The Owls play host to visiting Wagner at McGonigle Hall, tipping off at 7:00 p.m.

SCOUTING TEMPLE
> Temple enters Thursday's game with a 1-1 overall record.
> The Owls opened the season with a 96-72 win over Delaware State, but fell to Rutgers, 84-66, on Monday. 
> Temple finished 24-8 a year ago, earning a national ranking, and a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
> Tanaya Atkinson leads the Owls, averaging a double-double of 26.5 points and 13.0 rebounds per game.
> Freshman Mia Davis averages 17.0 points and 13.0 boards per game.
> Senior Khadijah Berger chips in with 8.5 points per game and a team-best 6.0 assists per game.
> Freshmen Emani Mayo (7.0 ppg), Breanna Perry (7.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg), and Desiree Oliver (4.0 ppg) are all regular contributors.
> As a team, Temple shoots 43.6% from the field and 26.1% from three.

LAST TIME OUT
> Temple fell to visiting Rutgers, 84-67 on Monday night.
> Temple rallied to cut a 24-point deficit to just seven points late in the third quarter, but Rutgers rebounded to close out the win.
> The Owls got a 30-point, 13-rebound effort from Tanaya Atkinson, but turned the ball over 23 times in the loss.
> Temple shot 40.7% from the field, but Rutgers scored 28 points off turnovers, accounting for the difference in the game.
> Freshman Mia Davis was the only other Owl in double-figures, scoring 13 points and finishing with nine rebounds.

SCOUTING WAGNER
> Wagner is 0-2 to start the season, having to play two tough opponents on the road.
> The Seahawks went 4-25 a year ago under first year head coach Heather Jacobs.
> Sierra Clark, a Division II All-American last season, leads Wagner in both points and rebounds, averaging 12.0 points per contest and 6.0 boards per game.
> Morgan Lenehan adds 8.5 points per game, while Alayshia Dailey chips in with 7.0 points and 4.0 rebounds a game.
> As a team, the Seahawks shoot 31.0% from the field and 23.1% from the three point line.

LAST TIME OUT
> Wagner fell 68-45 at James Madison on Sunday.
> The Seahawks trailed by 12 at the half, and cut the deficit to nine points in the third quarter, but could not get any closer.
> Sierra Clark recorded game highs with 22 points and nine rebounds.
> Alayshia Dailey came off the bench to score 10 points with three steals.
> Morgan Lenehan added seven points in the loss.

THE MATCH-UP
> The Owls are 2-0 all time against Wagner.
