Women's Gymnastics Grabs Three Wins on Record-Setting Senior Day

PHILADELPHIA – The Owls' final home and overall regular-season competition proved record-breaking yet again. Temple women's gymnastics reset its own program record with a 194.975 on its Senior Day to top Penn (193.5), Southern Connecticut State (190.50) and Ithaca (189.65) inside McGonigle Hall.

The vault team led the day off with a solid 48.675. A trio of 9.775 scores from Briana Odom, Jaylene Everett and Sahara Gipson. The score ranked second overall behind Penn's Caroline Moore who posted a 9.85. Temple's lineup was rounded out with a 9.75 from Aya Mahgoub and a 9.6 from Daisy Todd. Overall, the event total is the third 48.675 mark set by the Owls this season.

The Owls picked up the momentum on bars with a 48.80 to tie their season-high event total. The lineup was led by Todd's 9.825 that placed in a tie for third overall. Junior Kerry Arone kept up the big scores with a season-high 9.8. Reagan Oliveri and Yasmin Eubanks added a pair of 9.75 marks followed by Breahna Wiczkowski's 9.675.

A new season-high event total was posted on beam with the Owls adding a 48.775 in the third rotation. Freshman Kerra Masella led the way with a season-high 9.8 in the second position to lead the way and tie for second overall. Whitney King, Todd and Oliveri added a trio of 9.75 marks with Gipson's 9.725 rounding out the counting scores for the Owls.

Floor closed things out for Temple and secured the quad-meet victory. The 48.725 event total was led by Odom's career-high tying 9.85 in the anchor position that earned her another event title on the event. Everett added a 9.775 in the lead-off position. Gipson and Alexa Phillip added a pair of 9.75 scores to be followed by a 9.65 from Todd and a 9.6 from Oliveri.

Todd was the only all-around competitor for the afternoon and posted a 38.825, her second-highest total of the season.

The Owls only have one meet left for the historic 2017 season. The team will set out to capture their first ever ECAC title on Saturday, March 18. The six-team championship will be hosted by Brown University and is set to begin at 12 p.m.
