Golf Continues Long Week at Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Playing its fourth round in six days, Temple Golf opened play at the Furman Intercollegiate Friday. The Owls ended the day in 21st place, shooting a 16-over 304 at the 7,004-yard, par-72 Furman University Golf Course.
Sophomore Trey Wren topped the Owls and tied for 76th overall among the 127-golfers with a three-over 75. Junior Mark Farley and redshirt freshman Erik Reisner were one shot back of Wren and tied for 90th place. Redshirt sophomore John Barone was another stroke back and tied for 104th with a 77 while freshman Marty McGuckin (81, t120) completed the Temple quintet.
Georgia Southern led the 21-team field with a nine under-par 279. The Eagles' Brett Barron shot a tournament record nine-under 63 to lead the field by three strokes.
Second round play continues Saturday with the 54-hole tournament concluding Sunday.
