Golf Finishes 17th at The Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate

AIKEN, S.C. – Playing in a strong field at The Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, Temple Golf placed 17th overall in the 54-hole, 18-team event held at the 6,617-yard, par-70 Palmetto Golf Club.

Sophomore Trey Wren led the Owls and tied for 44th overall with a 12-over 222 (75-72-75).  Redshirt sophomore John Barone was two-strokes back with a 224 (70-78-76) to tie for 54th in the 90-player tournament.  Junior Mark Farley was the Owls' most consistent golfer, shooting three rounds of 76 to tie for 69th with a 228.  Redshirt freshman Erik Reisner (83-75-84, 242) and sophomore Sam Soeth (79-82-81, 242) tied for 87th to round out the five-man Temple contingent.

Clemson came from three strokes back in the final round to defeat Virginia by one stroke and capture the team title.  The Cavaliers' Derek Bard (69-65-70) won the individual title, posting a six-under 204.

Temple next competes at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va. on Mar. 19-21.
