PRINCETON. N.J. – Sophomore Trey Wren shot a one-over 143 on the first day of the 54-hole Princeton Invitational Saturday to help lead Temple Golf to 11^th place among the 14-team field. Wren carded a two-under 69 in the afternoon round at the 6,414-yard, par-71 Springdale Golf Club to tie for seventh overall among the 75 golfers in the competition.

As a team, the Owls had a strong afternoon round, shooting an eight-over 292, sixth-best for the final 18. That enabled the Cherry and White to move up two spots after a 310 first round.

Sophomore Gary McCabe carded a one-over 72 in the second round and is tied for 30^th overall with a seven-over 149. Redshirt sophomore John Barone was three shots better in his afternoon round (74) to tie for 40^th overall with a 151. Redshirt freshman Erik Reisner (82-77, 159) and junior Bobby Firth (83-78, 161) rounded out the Owls squad in 67^th and 70^th, respectively.

Minnesota (+5) owns a two shot lead over host Princeton (+7) for the team title while Seton Hall's Lloyd Jefferson Go was atop the individual chart with an eight-under 134.

Play concludes with one round Sunday.
