Women's Basketball Hosts Houston on Tuesday on ESPN3

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's basketball team will host Houston on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. The Owls (9-7) will play the Cougars (14-5) at McGonigle Hall on ESPN3. Dave Leno (play by play) and Angel Grey (analyst) will have the call.

SCOUTING TEMPLE
> Temple is 9-7 overall, with a 1-3 record in American Athletic Conference play.
> The Owls are led by senior Tanaya Atkinson, who averages team-best totals of 23.3 points and 10.3 rebounds, while adding 2.8 assists per game, which ties for the team lead.
> Freshman Mia Davis is second on the team with 11.3 points and 8.9 rebounds per outing. 
> Rookie Emani Mayo averages 8.3 points and 2.3 assists per game.
> Freshman Desiree Oliver adds 8.0 points and 2.7 assists per game, but is sidelined due to injury.
> Senior Khadijah Berger averages 4.9 points and a team-best 2.8 assists per game.
> As a team, Temple shoots 39.0% from the field and 29.7% from three.
> The Owls have out-rebounded opponents by an average of 4.4 boards per game, but have a negative turnover margin (-1.6).

> Tanaya Atkinson scored a career high 39 points, but the Owls fell 80-72 on the road at Cincinnati on Saturday afternoon.
> Cincinnati out-scored Temple 42-31 in the second half, including a 22-15 advantage in the fourth quarter.
> Temple got the Cincinnati advantage down to three points late in the game, but the Bearcats closed things out with an 8-3 run.
> Atkinson finished the game shooting 62.9% (17-27), tying a career high with six assists, while also pulling down a team-high nine rebounds.

> Houston has four players averaging in double figures, led by Jasmyne Harris, who pours in 20.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.
> Angela Harris conntributes 12.9 points per outing, while Serithia Hawkins averages 11.8 points and a team-high 8.1 rebounds per game.
> Dorian Branch rounds out the double-digit scorers with 10.7 points per game, with Octavia Barnes chipping in with 8.6 points an outing. 
> As a team, Houston shoots 41.4% from the floor and 33.3% from three, but just 64.4% from the line.
> The Cougars average 12.0 steals per game, ranking 11th in the country, forcing 22.8 turnovers per game from its opponents.

> #1 UConn held Houston to just four points in the first quarter, en route to a 95-35 victory over the Cougars at home on Sunday.
> The Huskies scored seven unanswered points to open the game, and never trailed, handing Houston its second-straight loss.
> Jasmyne Harris led the Cougars with 15 points, scoring in double figures for the 10th straight game.
> Octavia Barnes added five points, while Myyah West hauled in a team-high seven rebounds in the loss.
