Butts Named to American Weekly Honor Roll

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple graduate student Alliya Butts earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for Monday, November 12.
In her first action since the 2017 NCAA Tournament, the guard led Temple to a pair of wins to open the season. She averaged 15.0 points, and team-high averages of 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals as the Owls topped Delaware State and Big 5 rival, Saint Joseph's. Against DSU, Butts scored 18 points with five assists and three steals. At SJU, she scored 12 points, including a running jumper with under two minutes to play that put Temple up for good in a tight win over the Hawks, a 2018 WNIT second round team.Â
Temple is back in action on Wednesday at Ole Miss, playing the Rebels at 7:00 p.m. EST.
