Lacrosse Travels to Lafayette on Sunday

PHILADELPHIA - In the Owls' last road game for over a month, Temple lacrosse will travel to Lafayette for a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday, Feb. 25. The Leopards are looking for their first win after starting 0-2, while Temple stands at 2-2 so far in 2018.
Scouting Temple
> The Owls started the season hot at 2-0 before falling to #9 Princeton at home, 17-4, followed by an 18-11 home loss to Saint Joseph's. In its season opener on Feb. 10, Temple beat Rutgers, 12-8. The Owls then dominated in an 18-7 road win at Monmouth on Feb. 17.
> Senior Nicole Barretta had career performances in the opening two games, and was named the first BIG EAST Attacker of the Week of the 2018 season. One week later, Barretta earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll mention.
> After adding a career-high four assists to four goals for a career-high eight total points in the Rutgers win, Barretta scored a career-high seven goals (six in the first half) in the Monmouth victory. Her 19 total points rank second among all players in NCAA Division I, with her 13 goals ranking seventh in the nation.
> Sophomore goalkeeper Maryn Lowell tied her career high with 17 saves in the loss to Princeton. Lowell's 43 saves this season rank first among all players in NCAA Division I, with her 10.75 saves per game ranking 20th.
> Sophomores Maddie Gebert and Olivia Thompson are tied for second on the team with six goals each, and both recorded a hat trick against Saint Joseph's. It was the first of Gebert's career, and the second for Thompson.
> Senior Nicole Latgis leads the Owls with eight caused turnovers, and ranks third with 11 draws. Sophomore Kara Nakrasius has the team lead in draw controls with 17, while Gebert has a team-best 11 ground balls.
> Head Coach Bonnie Rosen is now in her 12th season at the helm. She stands at 167-176 in her 22nd year as a head coach, and is 99-95 at Temple (12th year), needing just one more win to reach 100.

> The Leopards are winless so far with a narrow, 13-12 loss at Longwood in their season opener, followed by a 20-13 home loss to Binghamton.
> Junior Jane Kirby leads Lafayette with seven goals, while junior Emma Novick is tied for the team lead in points with six goals and one assist.
> Lafayette finished with a 10-8 overall record in 2017, its best since 2002, and ended its season in the Patriot League Tournament quarterfinals.
> Head coach Alison Fisher is in her 10th season with Lafayette and is 53-103 overall.

> Temple has dominated in the all-time series against Lafayette with 27 wins in 29 meetings.
