Temple Mourns Passing of Men's Crew Great Jamie Beyer

PHILADELPHIA - Jamie Beyer, who helped lead Temple men's crew to four gold medals at the Dad Vail Regatta, passed away on February 23 following a long bout with cancer.  He was 44.

A 1996 Temple graduate, Mr. Beyer was one of the top coxswains in program history.  Under the direction of Hall of Fame coach Dr. Gavin White, he helped guide the Varsity 8 to three gold medals and the second Varsity 8 to one in his four years with the team.

A funeral mass will be held this Saturday, March 3 at Mother of Divine Grace Catholic Parish. 2918 E. Thompson St, Philadelphia, PA 19134. There will be a viewing from 10:00-11:00 am with Mass beginning at 11:00 am. Street parking is limited, carpool or plan accordingly. The family would like to request in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jamie Beyer Scholarship Fund.
