PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple men's crew team made grand finals in all four races entered, as the Owls hosted the 36th Annual Murphy Cup on the Schuylkill River on Saturday.
NOVICE EIGHT
> Temple freshman boat came away with the Owls' only medal, as the crew won silver.
>Â The Owls opened the day with a 6:05.57 in the heats, advancing to the finals in front of crews from Michigan and Army.
> In the finals, Temple finished in 6:44.34, just 3.22 off Drexel's winning time, to grab bronze ahead of Michigan and Virginia.
VARSITY EIGHT
> Temple's top boat used a second place finish in the heats to advance to the finals. The Owls timed in at 6:12.32, ahead of Colgate, UNC, Lafayette, and Loyola.
> In the finals, Temple's time of 6:36.25 was less than one second out of the medals.
SECOND VARSITY EIGHT
> Temple won its heat in 6:02.60, nabbing a spot in the finals by topping Drexel, URI, and Lehigh.
> In the finals, Temple's time of 6:47.17 placed the crew fifth overall.
THIRD VARSITY EIGHT
> The Owls earned a spot in the finals by finishing second in their heat, in a time of 7:22.10.
> In the finals, Temple finished fourth overall, clocking in at 6:52.56.

> Temple will compete at the Kerr Cup on the Schuylkill River on April 14.
