Women's Basketball Adds Transfer Ashley Jones to Roster

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's basketball team will add Ashley Jones a transfer guard from West Virginia for the 2019-20 season. Jones will sit out the 2018-19 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
POINT GUARD PROWESS
> A 5-7 guard from Philadelphia, Pa., Jones attended Neumann-Goretti Catholic High School.Â
> She played one season at West Virginia, appearing in all 36 games during the 2017-18 season that saw the Mountaineers go 25-11.
> Jones averaged 2.8 points per game with 27 steals, 65 rebounds, and 84 assists.
> She tallied season highs of seven points, nine assists, six rebounds, and four steals.
PREP CAREER
> As a recruit, Jones was rated the No. 75 overall player and No. 15 point guard by ESPN HoopGurlz Dan Olson Collegiate Girls Basketball Report.Â
> She was also ranked as the No. 42 overall player by the BlueStar Basketball Report.
> In high school, Jones was a three-time All-State performer, including first team selections in 2015 and 2017.
