Men's Crew Set for IRA Championships this Weekend

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple men's crew team will be making its 18th trip to the IRA National Championships this weekend. The Owls will be entering four boats at the event held at Mercer Lake, West Windsor, N.J. this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
VARSITY EIGHT
> Temple's top boat is coming off a gold medal performance at the 2018 Dad Vail Regatta. The Owls avenged a silver medal finish to SJU's gold at the Bergen Cup this year, by winning the Dad Vail in record time.
> Temple will race in the first heat of the day, beginning at 8:00 a.m. out of lane six.
> If needed, repechage races will go off at 12:30, 12:39, and 12:48 p.m. on Friday.
SECOND VARSITY
> Temple's second varsity eight is also coming off a gold medal winning performance at the Dad Vail. The Owls will race the same line-up, with the exception of the six seat.
> Heats begin at 9:09 a.m. for the Owls and they will race in lane six.
> Repechage races will be contested at 1:16, 1:25, 1:34, and 1:43 p.m.
THIRD VARSITY
> Temple's freshman eight boat, with one addition, will race as the third varsity boat at IRAs. The crew also grabbed gold in their last race -- the Dad Vail.
> Racing will begin at 9:36 a.m. and Temple will race out of lane six.
> The repechage races will go off at 1:52 and 2:01 p.m.
LIGHTWEIGHT FOUR
> The Owls will compete in a lightweight four, made up of four members of the crew that took bronze at the 2018 Dad Vail Regatta.
> Temple will hit the water at 11:06 a.m. out of lane three.
SEMIFINALS AND FINALS
> Semifinal races will be contested on Saturday, with finals going off on Sunday.
