Women's Basketball Announces 2018-19 Non-Conference Schedule
8.9.18 | Women's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's basketball team released its 13-game non-conference schedule for the 2018-19 season. The Owls will face four teams that were ranked or received votes in the final 2017-18 WBCA Top 25, including #6 South Carolina and #23 DePaul.
The road-heavy schedule features 10 games away from Philadelphia, and just three in the friendly confines of McGonigle Hall. The first of which is Temple's season-opener, a November 6 clash against Delaware State.
Following the opener, Temple begins Philadelphia Big 5 play with a trip to Saint Joseph's on November 9. The Owls then play at Ole Miss (Dec. 14) and Marist (Dec. 18) before heading south for the Miami Thanksgiving Classic. In Miami, Temple plays Radford, who advanced to the second round of the WNIT, on November 23, and Miami, an NCAA Tournament team, on November 25.
The Owls have a tough December slate, beginning with a road game at #23 DePaul on December 3. A home game against Iona follows on December 6 before Temple continues Big 5 play at Villanova on December 9. The Owls then play at #6 South Carolina on December 21 and close the 2018 portion of the schedule on December 30 at nearby La Salle.
Temple wraps up its non-conference schedule with games at Duquesne on January 2 and at Penn on January 23.
Temple's American Athletic Conference schedule is set to be announced in late August.
