CINCINNATI — A 17-0 Cincinnati run between the end of the third and beginning of the fourth quarter proved to be game-changing as the Temple women's basketball team fell on the road to the Bearcats, 72-52, on Wednesday night. The Owls fall to 4-12 overall, 0-4 in conference play, while Cincinnati improves to 9-8 overall, 2-2 in The American.

Keys to the Game
> Temple led by eight points with 2:34 left in the third quarter, before being outscored 35-7 over the final 12 minutes of play.
> The Owls shot a season-low 29.7% from the field to Cincinnati's 40.9%.
> The Bearcats had a huge 49-38 advantage on the glass, while forcing 19 Temple turnovers in the win.

Individual Highlights
> Senior Lena Niang was 5-of-8 from three point range finishing with a season-best 15 points.
> Sophomore Mia Davis led the Owls with 16 points and nine rebounds before picking up her fifth foul.
> Sophomore Desiree Oliver added six points, six rebounds, and six assists (tying a career high), while graduate student Alliya Butts finished with five points and five assists.

First Quarter
> A slow offensive start for the Owls picked up with back-to-back Davis buckets and a Mayo three.
> Leading 7-6, Temple fell victim to a 12-2 Cincinnati run, as the Bearcats closed the frame with an 18-9 advantage.

Second Quarter
> Each team went on a run in the second quarter, but Cincinnati still led by six at the break.
> Temple got itself back into the game by opening the frame on a 10-2 surge.
> Niang got hot from beyond-the-arc to buoy the Owls to within two, 24-22, but Cincinnati responded with an 8-3 run to go up by seven.
> In the final seconds, Niang hit another three and the Bearcats answered at the buzzer, setting the halftime score to 34-28.

Third Quarter
> Temple's defense heated up to start the third frame, as the Owls held Cincinnati to just one point in the first seven minutes.
> The Temple run got as high as 15-1, as the visitors took a 35-37 lead with 2:38 to play.
> From there, Cincinnati answered with an 11-0 surge of their own, regaining the lead and making it a 48-45 game after three.

Fourth Quarter
> Cincinnati continued their surge into the final frame, making it a 17-0 run between the end of the third and beginning of the fourth.
> Temple was unable to get anything done offensively in the quarter, as Cincinnati outscored the Owls, 24-7, to finish out the 72-52 win.
