Volleyball Announces Addition of Transfer Selina Merfol

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple volleyball has announced the addition of transfer Selina Merfol for the 2019 season. Merfol completes a strong signing class that includes Naomi Jantzke, Kayla Spells, and Nikki Saito, as new additions to the team next season.

Setting it Up
> Merfol is a 5-10 setter from Apeldoorn, Netherlands, who played two seasons at Columbia College.
> At Columbia, she appeared in 41 matches for the Cougars, recording 321 assists, 145 digs, 23 aces, and 17 blocks.
> Molina helped her squad advance to the NAIA National Championships for two-straight seasons, recording runner-up finishes in both 2017 and 2018.
> Before enrolling in college, she competed for Alterno Apeldoorn in the Netherlands, where she helped the team to six national finals including one championship and three top three finishes.
>Â As a junior, she took part in the Dutch National Youth Championships for five years helping her squad to a national championship. and became national champion.
> Merfol also made her debut for Eredivisie, the highest women's league in The Netherlands.Â
Academic Success
> A strong student-athlete, Merfol has excelled in the classroom, having been inducted into Columbia's freshman honor society, Alpha Lambda Delta, as well as the National Honor Society.Â
