Men’s Cross Country Prepares for Penn State National Open

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple University men's cross country team is set to compete at the Penn State National Open on Friday, Oct. 18. The 5.2 mile race is slated for an 11:30 a.m. start time at the Blue and White Courses in State College, Pa.
About the Penn State National Open
> The Blue and White Courses are home to the Nittany Lions men's and women's golf teams along with being the home site for Penn State's cross country meets.
> The Cherry and White will be competing against 24 teams, with each program being allowed a maximum of 12 entries.
> This will be the first time the Owls have raced in the Penn State National Open since Oct. 11, 2014.

> "This will be our final tune up before the conference meet and it'll be exciting to have our full group out there," stated head coach James Snyder. "The men are fit, focused and looking toward competing at the front of the field on Friday."
Last Time Out
> The men's cross country team last competed in the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University on Oct. 5. The Owls ended the race 39th out of 45 teams.
> In his season debut, Anton Harrsen was the first in the Cherry and White to cross the finish line with a time of 24:38.2. The Denmark native finished 113 out of 389 runners.
> Sophomore Ethan Koza followed Harrsen as he raced to a 24:59.4 finish, earning at spot at 174th.
> Closing out the top three for the Owls was senior Donovan Mears, who finished 224th with his mark of 25:16.9.
> Freshman Luke Klingenberg ended the race at 25:50.0 to finish at 303rd.
