Women’s Soccer Closes Out Regular Season at UConn Thursday

PHILADELPHIA—Temple women's soccer (5-9-4, 2-5-1 AAC) will hit the road and close out its regular season slate at UConn (6-8-2, 2-5-1 AAC) on Thursday, Oct. 31. The Owls and the Huskies are in the midst of a battle with three other teams for the remaining two bids to the American Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship. This high-stakes conference clash is set to kick off at 5 p.m.
Owl About Us
> The Cherry and White are led by head coach Seamus O'Connor, who is in his seventh season at the helm of the program.
> Temple is captained by junior Julia Dolan and seniors Morgan Basileo, Emily Keitel and Molly Tobin.
> Gutowski and and fellow sophomore Gabriela Johnson pace the Owls' offensive attack with 14 points (6g, 2a) and 10 points (3g, 4a), respectively. Junior Marissa DiGenova is also a threat in the attacking third, as she has each dished out two assists and netted one goal on the season.
> Basileo has been a mainstay between the posts for Temple, recording 117 saves through 17 contests for the Owls. This tally is good for fourth in the nation and first in the American. The senior owns a 1.27 goals against average, has four shutouts and has tallied double-digit saves three times this season (8/22 at No. 23 Wake Forest, 9/12 at Maryland, 10/17 at No. 21 UCF).

> Temple picked up a dominant Senior Day victory on Sunday afternoon, downing Delaware State, 4-0, at the Temple Sports Complex. The season-high scoring output for the Owls was backed by braces from both Madison Bee and Hailey Gutowski to propel the Owls to their fifth win of the season.
> Bee recorded her first collegiate goal in the opening minutes against Delaware State. She added another late goal with three minutes remaining in regulation to complete her brace.
> Gutowski's two-goal performance against the Hornets is her second of the season. The sophomore also recorded a brace against Houston on Oct. 13.

> Kess Elmore leads the UConn offense in production. The forward has been active in the attacking third, tallying 14 points (4g, 6a) on the season. Yamilee Eveillard is another threat for the Huskies, as she has netted three goals.
> Randi Palacios has been a constant in the net for UConn. The redshirt junior has recorded 83 saves and owns a 1.39 goals against average. Palacios has earned three shutouts and a 0.783 save percentage through 16 contests.
> The Huskies have netted 17 goals this season, averaging 1.06 per game. UConn's opponents have scored 23 goals against them this year for an average of 1.44 per contest.
