11.14.19 | Men's Cross Country

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple University men's cross country team will compete in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships Friday, Nov. 15th. The 10K race is slated for a 12 p.m. start at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course at Lehigh University.

About the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals
> The Goodman Campus Cross Country Course has four different course distances that navigate through cornfields, green space, wooded areas and campus scenery.
> Temple will compete against 26 other schools from throughout the Mid-Atlantic as they fight to win the program's first-ever regional championship.
> The Cherry and White were ranked third in the latest regional poll, behind No. 1 Villanova and No. 2 Georgetown.
> In 2018, the Owls finished sixth at the Mid-Atlantic regionals. Princeton walked away with a first-place finish, followed by Villanova and Georgetown. Kristian Jensen led Temple with his 13th overall finish with a time of 31:33.8.

From the Coach
> "The biggest message that we have conveyed this past year is to do all the things that we can do and control all the things that we can control," stated head coach James Snyder. "We left the regional meet last year very disappointed so after we discussed it as a team, we realized that for us to be the best we can be, we can't worry about what other people are doing and we need to focus on ourselves."
> "We have really revamped the way that we trained and the guys put in a ton of work last winter when no one was watching and that's why we are where we are right now."
> "What's going to allow us to be most successful is going to be our consistency. We have been on an upward trajectory throughout the course of the year, so it's just a matter of going out there and running our race."

Last Time Out
> Temple earned a second-place finish at the American Athletic Conference championships on Nov. 1st in Memphis, Tenn., right behind No. 7 Tulsa.
> Harry Powell earned All-Conference status with his 10th-place finish to lead the Owls.
> Following closely behind were seniors Zach Seiger and Kevin Lapsansky, who finished with respective times of 24:29.4 and 24:30.0 to take 11th and 12th places.
> The duo of Seiger and Lapsansky earned All-Conference recognition with their top-15 finishes. With his 12th-place mark, Lapsansky becomes the first men's cross country runner in program history to become a three-time All-Conference honoree.
> Jensen ran to a 17th-place finish with his time of 24:39.0 while Anton Harrsen rounded out the top-five in the 18th spot, clocking in at 24:41.0.
