Volleyball's Boyd Named to All-Conference Team

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple volleyball sophomore Peyton Boyd took home American Athletic Conference regular season honors on Wednesday. The right side was named to the All-Conference second team after a vote of the league's coaches.Â
Boyd earns her first career All-Conference nod, emerging as a six-rotation player for the Owls this year. She averaged 2.82 kills and 1.60 digs per set, tallying 41 total blocks while hitting a team-best .294.Â
The Dumfries, Va. native elevated her game against conference opponents this season, leading the Owls with 142 kills, while hitting .303, ninth best in the American. Boyd tallied nine double-digit kill performances throughout the season, with seven coming against American Athletic Conference foes. She also recorded a pair of double-doubles this year, and recorded career highs of 16 kills (vs. ECU) and 22 digs (vs. Tulane).Â
