Help Temple Crew reach its goal of $25,000 this year!
The second week of December can mean only one thing: I arrive (figuratively speaking) hat-in-hand and shamelessly ask for donations from you all for the 2019 edition of the Mike Mirabella Erg A Thon.Head Coach Brian Perkins
This year we have real stakes on the line. We need to raise enough funds to float our spring break training trip.
When I rowed we only took two 8s if we went at all. Until about 2015 we "cemented" the tradition of taking 19 guys... but then the team doubled in size!
We cut a few corners and moved the training from Florida to the Carolinas and expanded that roster to almost 40 athletes.
This year we want to take upwards of 55 athletes. This would probably be every healthy person on the team. I am full of Philly Pride, but happily acknowledge that almost everywhere south of Washington DC has better weather than Philadelphia in the first week of March.
We will be posting up in the Bell Tower area from 6am until 6pm on Monday December 9th. Here is how you can help:

2. If your company will match your gift, please ask. It's not too late to make a charitable donation!
3. Consider making a monthly recurring gift. A small amount could really add up!
4. Send a check made out to Temple Men's Crew to the event or directly to me.
Everything we make this year, we spend this year.
We already took two 8s to the Head of the Charles, raced the whole squad (sometimes in multiple events) in all the fall regattas, are taking Varsity boats to Miami for winter training, plan to go to San Diego, and have races in Ithaca, Princeton, Washington DC, and Boston again in the spring.
Our aggressive racing schedule has forced us to make spring break something to be earned in December.
To quote Mr. Gross, "We do it for them and they are worth it".
Temple Crew dedicates its one athlete-driven fundraiser in the memory of Mike Mirabella. A four-year member of the Temple crew team, Mirabella passed away on December 2, 2014 after a long bout with cancer. He was 23.
