Women's Basketball Hosts Tulsa on Wednesday Night

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's basketball team plays at McGonigle Hall for back-to-back games, beginning with a Wednesday night match-up against Tulsa. The Owls and Hurricane will square off at 7:00 p.m. on OwlsTV.

> The American Athletic Conference Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), representing the more than 7,000 student-athletes in the Conference, continues its "Pow6rful Minds" Campaign with Mental Health Awareness Week.
> The initiative aims to create awareness of mental health issues and the resources available for student-athletes. The definitive goal has been to end the stigma related to seeking help and promoting academic and personal success through a healthy, powerful mind.
> During all men's and women's basketball contests this week, coaching staffs will wear specially designed green ribbon pins, as green is the color of mental health awareness nationally.

> Tank Top Giveaway: The first 50 students at the game will receive limited edition Temple tank tops.Â

THE OWLS
> Temple is 9-17 overall (5-8 AAC) including 5-3 at home and 3-14 on the road.

> Cold second half shooting doomed Temple on Saturday afternoon, as the Owls fell 62-54 on the road at second place UCF.
> In a tight game, Temple shot just 30.8 (6-30) in the second half, including only 11.8% (2-17) in the fourth quarter.
> UCF shot 44% from the field, negating a 38-36 Temple rebounding advantage.
> The first quarter went back and forth before Temple took a four point edge after 10 minutes.
> Temple led by as many as eight in the second quarter, before succumbing to a 12-1 run that put UCF up by four at the half.
