PHILADELPHIA—Temple women's tennis (9-3, 0-1 AAC) improved to an undefeated 5-0 at home with a victory over city foe Villanova Friday morning. The Owls downed the Wildcats, 5-0, at the Legacy Tennis Center.
Notes
> Temple won two of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Villanova took first doubles, but the teams of Alice Patch and Oyku Boz and Oleksandra Doroshenko and Kristina Titova came out on top in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.
> In singles, the Owls did not let up a match. Surikova defeated her opponent to give Temple the 2-0 advantage.
> Chunan Xiang dominated in the No. 4 spot and Ruoyu Chen downed her Wildcat opponent at first singles to continue the Owls' momentum and clinch the match.
> Yining Tian wrapped up the contest with a win at fifth singles to improve to 7-0 on the season.
