Men’s Tennis to Face Philly Rival Penn Sunday

PHILADELPHIA—Temple men's tennis (5-5, 1-1 AAC) will travel across town to take on Penn (14-5, 0-0 Ivy) on Sunday, March 17. The match is slated to begin at 3 p.m. at the Hecht Tennis Center.
The Owls
> The team is led by head coach Steve Mauro, who is in his 13th year at the helm of the men's program.
> Last time out, Temple swept conference foe UConn, 7-0, on Saturday, March 9. Temple won the doubles point with victories from the No. 31 pair of Alberto Caceres Casas and Mark Wallner at first doubles as well as Uladzimir Dorash and Paolo Cucalon in the third spot. Cucalon and Juan Araoz downed their opponents at fourth and third singles, respectively, to put the team up 3-0. Temple clinched the match with a win from Dorash in the No. 2 spot. A three-set victory from Wallner at first singles improved his record to 8-1 on the season. Enzo Brida downed his opponent in the six spot and Eric Biscoveanu rallied for the win at fifth singles in a three-set contest.
> The doubles team of Casas and Wallner is ranked No. 31 in the Oracle/ITA Division I Men's Rankings. The duo is also the top-ranked doubles team in the American Athletic Conference and boasts an 8-1 record.
> The pair of Dorash and Cucalon has also been impressive in doubles play, owning a 7-2 record.
