Scouting Temple
> The Owls are 3-7 and have been up and down, winning two straight over Spring Break before losing three in a row. They put up a strong fight but lost 16-10 at #7 James Madison on March 16 and then fell narrowly at home vs. Jacksonville, 7-5.
> After five years as an associate member of the Big East Conference, Temple begins its first season in the American Athletic Conference which is sponsoring women's lacrosse for the first time ever. Four of six teams will advance to the AAC Tournament on May 2 & 4 at Cincinnati.
> Junior Maddie Gebert leads Temple with 18 goals, followed by junior Olivia Thompson with 15 goals. Junior Meghan Hoffman has scored 12 goals and sophomore Bridget Whitaker has 11 goals along with a team-best six assists and a team-best 17 caused turnovers.
> Defender Kara Nakrasius has collected a team-best 43 draw controls and also has 11 caused turnovers.
> Sophomores Jen Rodzewich and Courtney Taylor are tied for second with 14 caused turnovers each. Taylor also has a team-best 27 ground balls.
> Temple battled back from a 7-3 deficit vs. Boston University on March 12 to take leads of 8-7 and 9-8, but gave up four straight goals to end the game. BU's goalkeeper, Kennady Smith, made 17 saves.
> Over Spring Break, the Owls won 13-10 at city rival La Salle and 16-12 at UMBC. Temple's 16 goals at UMBC were its most so far this season.
> Both Gebert and Whitaker were named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll on March 12 after impressive showings in the Owls' two wins on March 5 and March 9. Gebert recorded hat tricks in both, scoring three goals at La Salle and a season-high four goals at UMBC. Whitaker tied for the lead in total points at UMBC, adding three assists to two goals for five points.
> Thompson exploded for a career-high six goals in the Owls' 12-10, come-from-behind win at Rutgers on Feb. 13 and was named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll. Gebert also notched a hat trick in that victory with three goals.
