Men's Tennis Competes Against UConn in AAC Matchup Saturday

PHILADELPHIA—Temple men's tennis (4-5, 0-1 AAC) will hit the road to take on American Athletic Conference foe UConn (7-6, 0-1 AAC) on Saturday, March 9. The match is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m at the Magic Lincer Tennis Center.
The Owls
> The team is led by head coach Steve Mauro, who is in his 13th year at the helm of the men's program.
> Last time out, Temple faced Memphis in its first AAC match of the season. The Owls batted tough against the Tigers, but were edged out, 5-2. Sophomore Mark Wallner and junior Paolo Cucalon each notched victories in singles. Wallner improved to 7-1 on the season and Cucalon to 5-2.
> The doubles team of Alberto Caceres Casas and Wallner is ranked No. 31 in the Oracle/ITA Division I Men's rankings. The duo is also the top-ranked doubles team in the American Athletic Conference and boasts a 7-1 record.
Scouting UConn
> UConn is led by Reinaldo Valor, who is in his first year as head coach of the Huskies.
