ATHENS, Ga.—Temple women's gymnastics' India Anderson, Monica Servidio and Ariana Castrence closed out their 2019 season with impressive performances at the NCAA Athens Regional on Friday. Anderson and Servidio were the first ever individual qualifiers in their respective events, floor and beam, in Temple history and Castrence represented the Cherry and White on vault.

Castrence competed on vault during the third rotation of Session I, scoring a 9.85 with her powerful Yurchenko 1 ½. The freshman tied for fifth in her session and recorded her fourth score of 9.85 or above this season.

Servidio also competed in Session I, representing the Owls during the fourth rotation on beam. In her first NCAA Regionals appearance, she put on a strong performance on the event, posting a 9.6.

Anderson represented Temple on floor in the final rotation of Session II. The senior captain was superb in her final competition in the Cherry and White, earning a 9.825. This was her 11th score of 9.825 or higher she has earned this year.

"I'm very proud of Ari, Monica and India," said head coach Josh Nilson. "Having three gymnasts who have never been to regionals all hit in this tough and intimidating environment is impressive! They represented their team and Temple University well today. This is the most gymnasts that Temple has had at a regional competition since 1997. We will build on this season and continue the climb."
