9.3.19 | Women's Volleyball

PHILADELPHIA -- Head coach Bakeer Ganesharatnam announced the addition of Keisuke Tsukada as a volunteer coach for the Owls this season.

"We are very fortunate that we are able to work with Keisuke," said Ganesharatnam. "He has a lot of experience, especially in the area of data and video breakdown. That is a component that he will be heavily involved with for our team for practices and matches, but also opponent breakdown. He has some tremendous skills in that category and we are very excited to have the opportunity to work with him."

An accomplished coach in his native Japan, Tsukada has experience at both the professional and collegiate levels. From 2014-19, he coached the Toray Arrows, also serving as an analyst for the team. Most recently, Tsukada helped the team finish second in the top professional league and first in the championship.

At the collegiate level, he worked as an assistant coach and analyst for the Waseda University team from 2014-2016. While serving as interim head coach in 2015, Tsukada's team won a championship in the top college tournament in East Japan in 2015, the first for the program in twenty-one years.

Tsukada completed his undergraduate at Kwansei Gakuin University with a degree in economics in 2012. He earned a masters degree in sports science from Waseda University in 2015.

The former setter holds a senior coach license in Japan, authorizing him to coach at the professional level.
