Castrence Named ECAC Gymnast of the Week

PHILADELPHIA—Gymnastics' Ariana Castrence has been named the ECAC Gymnast of the Week following her outstanding performance last Thursday in Temple's season-opener against Illinois and Lindenwood.
Castrence was superb in the first meet of the 2020 campaign. The sophomore competed in the all-around for the Cherry and White, taking second place with a 39.125 (9.8- vault, 9.775- bars, 9.8- beam, 9.75- floor). Her performance on vault earned her the event title and helped propel Temple to its highest event score of the afternoon. The Waldorf, Md. native is ranked No. 1 in the ECAC in the all-around.
The Owls are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 18, as open up their home slate with their Pink Meet against Cortland and SCSU. The competition is set to begin at 7 p.m. in McGonigle Hall.
