Men's Basketball Hosts Much Improved Tulane Saturday

PHILADELPHIA - Tulane, one of the most improved teams in the nation, is next up for Temple Men's Basketball as the Owls (9-5, 1-2 AAC) host the Green Wave (9-6, 1-2) Saturday (Noon/ESPNU/1210 AM WPHT).  Tulane, under the direction of new coach Ron Hunter, has already doubled its win total from the 2018-19 campaign (4-27, 0-18 AAC) and snapped a 20-game AAC regular season losing streak when it defeated Cincinnati, 76-71, on Jan. 4.Â
SCOUTING TEMPLE
> Temple, under the direction of first-year head coach Aaron McKie, sports a balanced attack with two players averaging double figures and another six averaging 5.0 points or more.
> Senior guard Quinton Rose leads the Cherry and White (sixth in the AAC) in scoring (14.6 ppg) and assists (55) while ranking second in steals (26). He is one assist away from tying McKie and Lynn Greer for ninth on Temple's all-time list with 196.
> Junior guard Nate Pierre-Louis tops Temple (5th in AAC) in rebounding (8.6 rpg), steals (29) while ranking second in scoring (10.8 ppg) and assists (42).
> Senior Alani Moore II (9.6 ppg) has more than doubled his offensive output from last year (4.1 ppg) and is tied for the AAC lead in threes per game (2.4).
> Rounding out the starting five are junior J.P. Moorman II (5.8 ppg), who ranks second on the team in rebounding (5.5 rpg), and sophomore Jake Forrester (7.9 ppg).
> Junior De'Vondre Perry (7.1 ppg), who ranks second in the AAC in three-point percentage (.474), redshirt junior Monty Scott (5.2 ppg) and freshman Josh Pierre-Louis (5.1 ppg) have provided the most impact from the Owls' deep bench.
