Gymnastics Picked to Finish Fifth in EAGL Debut

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple gymnastics team will begin its Eastern Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) era ranked No. 5 in the preseason poll, as picked by the conference head coaches.Â
The Owls tallied 30 total points in the poll, which included a first place vote, tying with UNC for fifth overall. NC State came is as the preseason number one with 59 points and five first-place votes, followed by Pitt (49 points), George Washington (46 points), and UNH (35 points). Following Temple and UNC, Towson (25 points) and LIU (14 points) rounded out the poll.
Temple's strong reputation also garnered the team votes in the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) National Preseason poll.
The Cherry and White are coming off of back-to-back ECAC Championships. The team makes its EAGL debut this season, and begin competition at home on January 16, hosting EMU and Towson.
